Specialty Show & Temperament Test

Mark your calendars! The Hovawart Club of North America will be holding our Annual Fall Specialty Show and Temperament Test.
We are pleased to have Christian IIgner join us as our judge. This will be Christian's first time with us. He is a long-time breeder and Hovawart sport competitor with a national championship in IGP (Schutzhund). Of course, he is also a specialty judge for the breed, trained in the RZV, the largest Hovawart club in the world. Christian's kennel is Langhagensee .

Marie Buckingham, our host, operates a dog sport facility called The Gated Dock. There dogs and their owners can learn dock sports, obedience, FastCat, Barn Hunt, and other excellent sports. If you are coming with a camper or an RV, Marie has room for you. There are no hookups, but you can run a generator. Additionally, Shelby and nearby Mansfield have many hotels that are pet friendly. VRBO and AirBnB are, of course, there too.

Marie has a young Hovi from ex Horto Albo in Slovenia and many of us met a year ago in Pittsburgh. We are excited to have her host us. And we are especially excited for the opportunity for so much sport and training we can have here.

8:30 am Registration

9:00 am Temperament Testing

12:00 pm Lunch orders will be taken as we get closer to the event and lunch will be eaten on the property

1:00 pm Temperament Testing (cont.)

Volunteers are necessary for the test, and we know you'll have fun participating even if your dog isn't being tested (maybe even more fun ;-) )

Tests will continue until all dogs are evaluated.

3:00 pm Games & sport demonstrations

7:00 pm Dinner

The location for the dinner is TBD and will be announced shortly.
