Currently the club holds two shows each year, one in the spring and another in the fall.
Each show has a conformation component where the dogs are judged based upon how well they
conform to the breed standard. A dog must obtain the rating of "Very Good" or "Excellent"
as part of the qualification for breeding. Another component of the show is the temperament
testing, which is done to screen excessively aggressive or shy dogs from the breeding
program.
The 2006 HCA Fall Specialty will be held on September 9-10 in Leesburg, VA.
