  • HCNA Specialty Shows

As part of our commitment to supporting the responsible breeding of Hovawarts in the US and to helping spread information about the breed, HCNA sponsors shows on a regular basis. Each show has a conformation component where the dogs are judged based upon how well they conform to the breed standard. A dog must obtain the rating of "Very Good" or "Excellent" as part of the qualification for breeding. Another component of the show is the temperament testing, which is done to screen excessively aggressive or shy dogs from the breeding program.

Reminder:

All HCNA registered dogs who have been x-rayed for hip dysplasia (and evaluated by OFA) between September 1st 2008 and August 31st 2009 will participate in a draw at our fall show in September 2009. The first prize will be an oil painting of the dog.
(Note: you won’t have to attend the show to participate in the draw!)

Please forward the OFA result to our breeding director Nancy Rutkowski, or simply scan it in and send it by email to: hovawartclub@yahoo.com

If you have any questions in regards to the hip-xray, please feel free to contact us!
