Jezzebell

Jezzebell

As expected, Jezzabell was a very popular rescue with lots of applications. Sunshine Golden Retreive Rescue faced a very difficult decision in selecting her new home. That process has now been completed. We look forward to hearing how she does with her new family.

Jezzebell's background:

Jezzabell is a 3 month old black and tan female.  She is now in very good foster care with a vet tech through the Sunshine Golden Retriever Rescue Group in AL. Jezzabell was among a litter of 3 puppies that was found by an animal cruelty team along with 12 other puppies (6 pomeranians) in an abandoned house. No other humans or adult animals were found. Based on knowledge of that area and the look and mix of the litter, we believe there is a high probability they are Hovawarts. Before we were able to intervene with probable identification as Hovawarts 2 of the puppies were adopted out.  Jezzabell remains. She and her blonde sister were taken into rescue custody from a high kill shelter on the day they were otherwise scheduled for euthanasia. The report is that she is recovering in health from a terrible case of hookworm with excellent vet care. She is happy, spunky, wants to be held, and wants interaction, all fabulous signs from a puppy that was abandoned and left to die. Barvara Mennite has been working closely with Lisa Hume of Sunshine Golden Retriever Rescue since we first learned about this situation from her on Nov 18.

Jazzy update

You  may remember the little girl who had no name. If not, her adoption story is below. We are happy to report that she has settled into her new home very nicely. She takes no guff from the German Shepherd puppy she shares her home with. She absolutely loves car rides, and turns herself inside out with excitement when Connie ges home from work. We love hearing how well our rescues are doing in their new homes.

This little gorl who had no name is now Jasmine, nicknamed Jazzy, and will be going to her new home next week. It tuens out she is probably about two years old and weighs 33 pounds. She had been in the pound a few weeks and was running out of time when Adele contacted us. It seems that the animal control officer thaought she looked like a dog he had seen in one of his old breed books ... something called a Hovawart. Chances are she is not, but the coincidence saved her life. Jazzy was barely on our website when my own sister, Connie, claimed her. Adele moved heaven and earth to cut through the red tape, get her released, get her vaccinations and get her into a safe kennel where our own president, John Rutkowski, will pick her up. She will ride with John and his family as they head for the fall show. Connie will meet them and Jazzy will finally be headed to her forever home in Detroit. Thanks to everyone for helping us save another life and complete another home.
